Komodo Shipyard is a yard-side engineering and project desk for vessels working in Komodo National Park. We are a specialist maritime brand under Juara Holding Group. Construction, repair, refit and vessel-sale contracts are issued by PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara. We quote in USD and we publish method rather than marketing.
Why this desk exists
There is a large amount of published material about visiting Komodo and almost none about building or maintaining a boat that works there. Owners researching a liveaboard project find trip operators, charter listings and general yacht-building articles written for other parts of the world. The specific engineering and regulatory problems of a vessel that has to punch six-knot tidal streams, anchor legally inside a conservation area, carry certified passengers and be hauled out in a place with limited industrial depth are simply not documented anywhere public.
We started publishing because we kept answering the same questions in email. The pages on this site are the answers, written out properly.
How we work
Survey before scope
We do not quote refits from photographs and we do not quote builds from a napkin sketch. A condition survey or a written technical brief comes first. This makes our first response slower than a competitor who sends a number the same day, and it makes our number stay put.
Owner side, not yard side
On new-build supervision we work for the owner and take no commission from the yard. On pre-purchase survey we work for the buyer and take no commission from the seller. Independence is the entire value of both services and it cannot be partial.
Write the inconvenient finding
We would rather tell an owner that a conversion is not worth doing, or that a listing is a poor buy, than take the project and discover it together later. Several of the most useful conversations we have had ended with a client not spending money.
Compliance as engineering
Regulatory requirements set holding tank volume, cabin count, mooring gear, escape routes and crew numbers. We treat them as design inputs at the start rather than as paperwork at the end, which is why the compliance guide is the most detailed reference on this site.
What we do not claim
We do not publish awards, association memberships, licence claims, press mentions, star ratings or invented client testimonials. If a credential is not something we can hand you a document for, it does not appear on this site. That is a deliberate standard across the group, and it is the reason this page is shorter than most “about” pages in this industry.
Editorial and technical content on this site is published by the Komodo Shipyard Build Desk. We do not attach individual personal bylines to technical guidance, because the guidance reflects the desk’s collective working practice rather than one person’s opinion.
Where we sit in the group
Juara Holding Group operates a set of specialist maritime brands and digital platforms covering the vessel lifecycle: design and construction, investment and acquisition, management, repair and refit, charter revenue and resale. Komodo Shipyard covers the Komodo-operations end of the repair, refit and build-supervision chain. Repair and refit demand arriving through group charter operations is routed via the fleet repair and refit desk, and owners comparing yards outside Flores can use the shipyard network across Indonesia.
Contact
Email sales@komodoluxury.com or WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875. If you are enquiring about an existing vessel, send length, year, hull material, engines and hours, and current certification. If you are enquiring about a build, send the operating profile you want to run. More on the contact page, and the capability profile is on the yard capability page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Komodo Shipyard a shipyard or a project desk?
Both functions exist, but the published role is a yard-side engineering and project desk: refit and conversion, owner-side new-build supervision, and Labuan Bajo yard logistics. Construction, repair, refit and vessel-sale contracts are issued by PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara.
Who publishes the technical content on this site?
The Komodo Shipyard Build Desk. We do not attach individual personal bylines to technical guidance because it reflects the desk’s collective working practice rather than one person’s opinion.
Why are there no awards or client testimonials on the site?
Because we only publish credentials we can produce a document for. No awards, association memberships, licence claims, press mentions or ratings appear anywhere on this site by deliberate policy.
What is the relationship to Juara Holding Group?
Komodo Shipyard is a specialist maritime brand under Juara Holding Group, which operates a set of maritime brands and platforms across the vessel lifecycle. The group describes these as specialist maritime brands rather than using any other corporate label.
What currency do you work in?
USD, for survey, refit, supervision and build budgets alike.
